This ECU comes from Alfa X1 156 MY 2002, T7 156 BENZINA (1997-2002) and T8 156 TD.ID (1997-2002)

If you can locate and electrical wiring diagrams for a Alfa 156 then you will be able to get the pin numbers ok.

The 3-Pin message almost certainly means that you need a 3 pin adapter cable to plug into the ELM cable to connect to you car which uses 3-Pin connectors and not an EOBD connector.

Good idea and certainly possible. What I don't know is the ability and latency involved to scan for errors/fault codes whilst doing real time signal monitoring.
