Re: ELM327 Problem
The only real ELM327 from ScanTool.net will give you the real firmawre version as they are theirs ! The chinese clones (and there are quite a few it seems), shows any thing from 1.2 to 1.5 (mine says 1.5) These are irrelevant. It works or it doesn't. For the CAN, modify the interface as described s...

Re: WHICH ELM VERSION?AND WHERE TO BUY?
The Gendan ELMs work fine with FES and do not have the resistor problem that plagues the cheap clones.

Re: ecu scan 3.3 doesn't find interference, 3.2 find and wor
Port speed should be 38400 for the Gendan Elms. What COM port number is it showing up as in Device Manager? I've seen people talking about problems trying to use anything above COM5 in FES, so if it's higher than that it may be worth going into Port Settings > Advanced and dropping it down to COM2 o...

Re: cable vag908
Nope, if it's a 908 cable then it's an illegal rip-off of the official VCDS interfaces.
It'll only work with VCDS 908 - it won't work as a KKL interface.

Re: Set Up Problem, ports and drivers
Ok, first things first, what cable are you using? If it's an ELM or KKL cable, have a look in the ports setting of the Windows Device Manager - the interface will show as a USB > Serial Convertor / Adaptor, with a COM port number assigned to it. That's the COM port number you need to select in FES. ...
